DESCRIPTION:Mom's and Munchkins \n\nHosted by June & Beyond Boutique and the Parlor Salon\n\nA percentage of sales go to Shephard's Packs of Lebanon.\n\nThe Shephard's Pack Program is an outreach of the First Christian Church of Lebanon\, Missouri started in 2008. The program targets school-aged children of the Lebanon Public Schools District. In 2009\, the Joel E. Barber school was also added to the program.\n\nThe intent of the program is to supplement the student's on weekends by providing a safe and secure source of food for children. The majority of the students that are served are part of the reduced and free lunch program in the school. In observing the students\, it was noticed that many of the students were "gorging" on Fridays and Mondays because of lack of food in the homes over the weekend.\n\nThis program provides breakfast\, lunch\, and dinner foods for the weekend. Food items include oatmeal\, protein bars\, meat based pasta\, fruit cups\, pudding\, soup or chili\, and peanut butter. The pack currently contains eight items. \n\nEligibility is based on recommendations by a school counselor\, social worker\, or administrator. All participants' parents are required to sign letters of intent to participate. The program is kept confidential. Funding is provided by monetary gifts from the First Christian Church\, other Lebanon churches\, private organizations\, businesses\, and individual donations.\n\nWhen the program was started in 2008\, there was 25 students receiving Shephard's packs. Last year we ended the year with 189 students being served in both school districts.
